Principal Transportation Planner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee teams engaged in transportation planning projects at the state, regional, and local levels.

• Participate in national transportation research and provide technical assistance.

• Direct the creation of innovative, precise, timely, and high-quality products and services.

• Formulate transportation plans and conduct planning studies across various projects at state, regional, and local levels.

• Supervise project timelines and financial resources.

• Organize workshops and other outreach initiatives.

• Spearhead the development of new business opportunities targeting state and local clientele.

• Recognize industry trends and collaborate with senior division leadership to ensure ICF's long-term growth.

• Lead the process of identifying and recruiting new candidates when appropriate.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental science, transportation/civil engineering, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation planning, policy, environmental concerns, economics, or asset management.

• Experience with state, regional, or local transportation plans or policy matters, particularly in the Mid-Atlantic or Southeastern regions.

• Proficiency in one or more areas such as multimodal transportation planning, performance-based planning and programming, transit planning and multimodal analyses, transportation financial analysis, asset management, or economic analysis.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated business development expertise.

• Capability to work collaboratively with project teams and clients.

• Preferred: At least 3 years of experience in a consulting setting leading business development efforts.
