Principal Technologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the national technical authority and escalation point for intricate Lenovo ISG opportunities throughout CDW.

• Establish architectural direction for enterprise computing, storage, converged and hyperconverged infrastructure, hybrid cloud, HPC, AI-ready infrastructure, edge computing, and modern data center solutions.

• Drive technical strategy for complex pursuits, which includes discovery, solution framing, architecture validation, competitive positioning, executive presentations, and alignment across practices.

• Create solutions that address infrastructure requirements, business constraints, operational considerations, financial goals, and long-term roadmaps.

• Function as a trusted advisor at the executive level, leading briefings, innovation workshops, architecture reviews, and discussions on business outcomes.

• Evaluate peer designs for quality, accuracy, scalability, supportability, and alignment with requirements.

• Define complementary services and work together with services teams on scope and effort estimations.

• Spearhead technical go-to-market execution and develop repeatable solution methodologies.

• Create standardized deliverables, reference architectures, design templates, SOW frameworks, demonstration guidance, assessment methods, and reusable intellectual property.

• Sustain strategic relationships with Lenovo and ecosystem partners, executing joint strategies.

• Lead national enablement and initiatives for knowledge sharing.

• Provide coaching and mentorship to architects, engineers, specialists, and other technical professionals.

• Articulate CDW’s technology and services value proposition and facilitate Lenovo ISG growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in technical pre-sales or technical architecture is essential.

• Expertise in enterprise data center infrastructure and Lenovo ISG or similar technologies is necessary.

• Demonstrated success in designing, positioning, and selling complex technology solutions and services.

• Advanced consulting, presentation, facilitation, written, and verbal communication skills are required.

• Ability to influence without direct authority, mentor peers, and promote standards and best practices.

• Strong business and market acumen to link technology strategy with customer outcomes and growth.

• Willingness to travel as required.

• Current Lenovo ISG technical certifications relevant to the role and CDW partner requirements are a plus.

• Experience with Lenovo ThinkSystem, ThinkAgile, TruScale, HPC, AI-ready infrastructure, edge computing, and enterprise storage solutions is advantageous.

• Hands-on experience with OneIQ, Lenovo Data Center Solution Configurator (DCSC), and Lenovo Solution Sizing Tool (LSST) is beneficial.

• Familiarity with ecosystem technologies such as accelerated computing, virtualization, containers, hybrid cloud, networking, data protection, and infrastructure management is a plus.

• Experience in supporting strategic customers, enterprise transformations, multi-practice opportunities, or large data center modernization initiatives is favorable.

• Background in developing architecture standards, service offerings, technology practices, reusable solution assets, or go-to-market initiatives is advantageous.

• Proven technical thought leadership through executive briefings, speaking engagements, publishing, mentoring, innovation, or industry involvement is a plus.
