Principal Technical Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and advance the long-term product vision and technical strategy for a significant product line, platform, or portfolio.

• Design and oversee large-scale, cross-program EPICs and initiatives.

• Recognize systemic dependencies, technical risks, and organizational impacts across various teams and business units.

• Lead the planning and implementation of initiatives spanning multiple program increments.

• Create roadmap narratives that link features to the broader company strategy.

• Collaborate with senior executives, architects, and cross-functional leaders on investments, priorities, and trade-offs.

• Drive business process modeling and re-engineering utilizing BPMN, value stream mapping, and swimlanes.

• Set standards for requirements elicitation, documentation, and traceability.

• Define frameworks for feature definition and prioritization.

• Design and govern success metrics that encompass adoption, performance, throughput, and value realization.

• Report outcomes to senior leadership.

• Mentor and coach both senior and mid-level product managers.

• Act as the point of escalation for complex, ambiguous, or high-risk product and technical challenges.

• Represent the product organization in governance forums, architecture review boards, and executive planning sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.

• 3–5 years of pertinent experience, including substantial experience at a strategic or enterprise level.

• Recognized expertise in technical product management, business process modeling, and enterprise-scale product strategy.

• Strong technical fluency and the ability to engage with architects and engineering leadership regarding system design and technical trade-offs.

• A proven history of shaping multi-year roadmaps and influencing strategic decisions across the enterprise.

• Exceptional skills in stakeholder management, including conducting executive-level workshops and cross-organizational alignment sessions.

• Advanced proficiency in requirements traceability frameworks, governance models, and documentation standards at scale.

• Extensive experience in defining, tracking, and reporting success metrics linked to strategic business outcomes.

• Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing product management professionals.

• Background check may be necessary due to regular access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer proprietary data.

• Must reside in the United States, excluding Alaska.
