Principal Technical Product Engineer – Agentic AI, Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Establish technical strategies and reference architectures for Agentic AI, security automation, orchestration, and autonomous security workflows throughout the Palo Alto Networks platform.

• Act as a global subject-matter expert in AI-driven Security Operations.

• Provide guidance to internal teams, strategic customers, and partners regarding emerging agentic capabilities and their practical applications.

• Identify security workflows that can be enhanced through automation, AI agents, orchestration, and intelligent decision-making.

• Design and prototype agentic workflows for investigation, triage, enrichment, detection analysis, response, remediation, and operational reporting.

• Create technical content, demonstrations, proof-of-concept environments, reference architectures, and implementation guides.

• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to convert customer challenges into product requirements, roadmap priorities, and scalable capabilities.

• Work alongside strategic customers to validate AI and automation use cases, assess outcomes, and identify repeatable patterns.

• Develop frameworks for human augmentation, independent automation, and necessary human approvals.

• Discover AI and automation integration opportunities across SIEM, SOAR, XDR, CNAPP, endpoint, identity, and cloud workflows.

• Set measurable outcomes for AI adoption, including reduced analyst workload, accelerated investigation and response, improved consistency, and increased security-team capacity.

• Monitor advancements in Agentic AI, LLMs, AI security, autonomous systems, and security operations, translating them into customer opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in leading cross-functional technical initiatives involving various stakeholders, strategic customers, and emerging technologies.

• Exceptional professional presence and confidence in advising security practitioners up to C-level executives.

• Strong knowledge of modern Security Operations, SOC workflows, SIEM, SOAR, XDR, CNAPP, automation, and orchestration.

• Proven experience in identifying and implementing automation for complex technical or operational workflows.

• Practical experience with Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, agentic workflows, or AI-powered security technologies.

• Understanding of safe integration of AI into security operations, including human-in-the-loop controls, governance, validation, permissions, and operational guardrails.

• Experience working directly with strategic enterprise customers and major cloud infrastructure providers.

• Strong technical knowledge of cloud-native architectures and modern security operations.

• Ability to prototype or create technical solutions using APIs, automation frameworks, scripting, orchestration platforms, or cloud services.

• Excellent presentation and technical writing skills, including demos, technical workshops, architectural guidance, whitepapers, and executive briefings.

• Familiarity with XSIAM, Cortex XSOAR, Cortex XDR, Cortex Cloud, CNAPP, SIEM, SOAR, or similar technologies.

• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, APIs, and cloud-native services is a plus.

• Experience in developing or integrating AI agents, LLM-based applications, MCP/tool integrations, or agentic workflows is a plus.
