Principal, Strategic Finance & Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with business, product, and analytics leaders across Luxe, Monthly Stays, and Airbnb for Business.

• Assist in making investment decisions for Airbnb's rapidly expanding emerging businesses.

• Become the go-to expert on the economics of these businesses, focusing on demand and supply acquisition costs and returns.

• Develop business cases for significant investment choices, quantify opportunities, model returns, and outline trade-offs.

• Oversee the complete performance management of the incubation portfolio, which includes forecasting, goal and OKR setting, and executive reporting.

• Create scalable reporting frameworks that link early indicators to revenue and long-term value.

• Monitor and evaluate full-funnel demand and supply performance.

• Identify funnel leaks, their underlying causes, and the benefits of addressing them.

• Establish and rigorously test unit economics while assessing scalability.

• Evaluate capital allocation across incubation businesses and suggest reallocations.

• Distill complex data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

• Persuade cross-functional stakeholders to reach consensus on impactful investment and operational decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of relevant experience.

• Preferred analytical experience in strategic finance, strategy/management consulting, investment banking, financial planning and analysis, business operations, or private equity.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL, capable of independently extracting, analyzing, and synthesizing data.

• Exceptional financial modeling abilities.

• Significant experience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative financial analyses.

• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to convert data into actionable decisions.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Experience in presenting to senior leadership.

• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.

• Strong ownership mindset with excellent judgment and attention to detail.

• Experience in evaluating growth strategies, ROI/efficiency returns, and the scalability of new business models is a significant advantage.

• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. is registered.
