Principal, Strategic Finance & Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with leaders across business operations, product, analytics, data science, and Strategic Finance to enhance and expand Airbnb’s Membership program.

• Act as the strategic finance and analytics authority for Membership.

• Assist leadership in determining investment areas, estimating program sizes, and identifying which growth levers to amplify.

• Become the go-to expert on program economics, including guest and host behavior, costs, and returns.

• Establish and construct financial and analytical frameworks for nascent programs.

• Perform in-depth analytical and financial evaluations to guide significant decisions.

• Develop investment business cases, assess opportunities, model returns, and outline trade-offs.

• Oversee performance measurement, encompassing KPIs, goals, OKRs, reporting, and forecasting.

• Facilitate annual planning, long-range planning, and monthly or quarterly forecasts.

• Create and rigorously evaluate program economics, including costs of incentives and benefits, guest and host responses, and incremental impacts.

• Transform complex data into executive-ready narratives and actionable recommendations.

• Persuade cross-functional stakeholders and foster alignment on investment and operational decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of relevant finance and analytical expertise in strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, strategy/management consulting, and/or business operations (preferably).

• Exceptional financial modeling capabilities.

• Extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative financial analysis, including business cases and ROI frameworks.

• High-level proficiency in business analytics.

• Ability to independently extract, analyze, and synthesize large datasets.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven track record of influencing cross-functional partners and achieving alignment in fast-paced, ambiguous settings.

• Strong sense of ownership, excellent judgment, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proficiency in AI or the ability to quickly become proficient using Claude or Gemini.

• Experience with growth strategies, ROI assessment, and scaling marketplaces, loyalty, incentive, or growth programs is advantageous.

• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. maintains a registered entity.
