Principal Specialist, Supplier Performance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee internal and supplier containment initiatives in collaboration with Operations and Quality.

• Organize improvement strategies and communicate updates through scheduled plan review checkpoints.

• Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RRCA) investigations for significant quality or delivery challenges.

• Elevate ongoing issues to crisis mode or assemble tiger teams when required.

• Track leading and lagging KPIs and assess criteria for containment exit.

• Identify supplier locations and prioritize developmental efforts based on risk, impact, and strategic commodity requirements.

• Execute supplier evaluations utilizing the OCRA tool.

• Collaborate with suppliers on development roadmaps, training, and targeted maturity-model initiatives.

• Facilitate the creation of improvement plans, track KPIs, and conduct gate reviews.

• Coordinate with Commodity Managers and Engineering teams regarding supplier readiness for new projects or volume increases.

• Monitor maturity advancements and initiate sustainment planning.

• Assist in supplier transitions and oversee post-transition supplier maturity.

• Implement APQP for new product launches and manage transition projects.

• Align internal business units and suppliers on performance expectations and ongoing improvement efforts.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

• Experience in casting and/or forging manufacturing processes.

• High energy and enthusiasm.

• Background in collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships across various Collins Aerospace business units.

• Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.

• Capability to apply lean principles/tools to streamline processes and improve customer satisfaction.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access).
