Principal Specialist, Supplier Performance

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Spearhead internal and supplier containment initiatives in partnership with Operations and Quality, coordinating enhancement plans and ensuring effective communication through plan review checkpoints.

β€’ Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RRCA) investigations to address critical quality or delivery challenges, escalating ongoing issues to crisis mode or specialized teams when necessary.

β€’ Track leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and determine if exit criteria have been met for containment actions.

β€’ Identify supplier sites and prioritize development initiatives based on risk, impact, and strategic commodity requirements, while conducting supplier evaluations using the OCRA (Operational Capability & Risk Assessment) tool.

β€’ Collaborate with suppliers on development roadmaps, training, and targeted actions linked to maturity models, and facilitate structured improvement plan creation, KPI tracking, and gate reviews.

β€’ Coordinate with Commodity Managers and Engineering teams regarding supplier readiness for new programs or volume increases, while monitoring progress toward achieving target maturity levels and initiating sustainment planning.

β€’ Provide leadership and assistance for supplier transitions, ensuring a seamless transfer of work scope with minimal disruption and monitoring supplier maturity post-transition to guarantee long-term capability.

β€’ Implement APQP for new product launches and work transition projects while aligning with internal business units and suppliers to reinforce performance expectations and continuous improvement initiatives.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Generally requires a University Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

β€’ Must possess casting and/or forging manufacturing experience.

β€’ Requires a high energy level, experience in working with cross-functional teams, strong communication skills including the ability to cultivate a network of relationships with various Collins Aerospace business units, a strong work ethic, and excellent organizational skills.

β€’ Capability to apply lean principles/tools for process management, ensuring ongoing improvements in systems and benchmarking best practices to enhance customer satisfaction at all levels.

β€’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access).
