Principal Specialist, ERP S4 HANA Project Management Test Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• The Test Lead will create test strategies, conduct test readiness assessments, formulate test plans, and develop test cases to ensure alignment with program requirements.

• You will guide teams in executing test activities involving various stakeholders, monitor test progress, manage defects, and escalate issues as necessary.

• This role includes the development of strategic testing methodologies, which may involve the implementation of third-party solutions or tools.

• The Test Lead is expected to document and follow test management processes and best practices to guarantee that all tasks, activities, and resources align with the overarching program and organizational objectives.

• Formulate detailed test strategies and plans.

• Supervise the development of both automated and manual test cases.

• Coordinate unit, integration, regression, and UAT testing phases.

• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to define test scope, objectives, and success criteria.

• Oversee test environments, data preparation, and the scheduling of test executions.

• Lead defect triage meetings to ensure prompt resolution and necessary retesting.

• Ensure adherence to SAP best practices and organizational quality assurance standards.

• Provide stakeholders and project leadership with status reports and metrics.

• Work with business users, consultants, and offshore teams to guarantee adequate test coverage and readiness.

• Propel test progress to align with the overall project timeline.

• Manage resource allocation and understanding of test team workloads, identifying potential constraints to ensure optimal utilization throughout the testing lifecycle.

• Engage in proactive risk management by identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring potential risks, with real-time alerts for critical issues.

• Communicate expectations clearly and foster accountability among test team members.

• Resolve conflicts, encourage collaboration, and motivate teams towards shared objectives.

• Manage multiple testing activities, tasks, and resources through effective organization, prioritization, and time management to achieve program goals.

• Additional duties include documentation, communication with stakeholders, and identifying areas for improvement to boost the quality and efficiency of testing activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience OR, in the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

• Proficient hands-on experience with test management tools such as qTest, ALM, or similar platforms.

• Experience in coordinating cross-functional testing across various workstreams, including managing onsite-offshore testing teams and aligning deliverables.

• Prior involvement in SAP upgrade or implementation projects is essential.

• Familiarity with multiple methodologies, including waterfall and agile Scrum methodologies.
