Principal Solutions Engineer, Acceleration

📋 Description

• Outline how 1Password introduces emerging technologies to the market.

• Oversee technical validation for new products, strategic initiatives, and developing technologies from initial development to general availability.

• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Marketing, and Engineering to define product direction.

• Convert field feedback into actionable insights for product and go-to-market strategies.

• Create consistent discovery frameworks, demonstrations, technical messaging, reference architectures, and implementation guidance.

• Design and implement technical enablement initiatives, including workshops, labs, certifications, and playbooks.

• Direct strategic customer engagements, private previews, beta programs, and early-adopter initiatives.

• Deliver executive-level technical guidance and influence customer outcomes.

• Identify emerging market opportunities and represent 1Password at briefings, conferences, webinars, podcasts, customer events, and through industry content.

• Mentor Solutions Engineers and spearhead cross-functional initiatives to accelerate adoption and scale successful practices.

• Collaborate with teams across Product Management, Product Marketing, Enablement, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and key customers.

• Report directly to the Vice President of Global Solutions Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles within enterprise B2B SaaS environments.

• Proven experience leading initiatives beyond a single sales territory.

• Track record of transforming emerging technologies into customer value, consistent field operations, and product or go-to-market recommendations.

• Experience working collaboratively with Product Management, Engineering, Product Marketing, or related cross-functional teams.

• Exceptional executive communication, storytelling, and presentation abilities.

• In-depth knowledge of modern identity architectures and developer or AI-driven workflows, including OAuth, OIDC, SCIM, APIs, MCP, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, AI agents, and contemporary cloud platforms.

• Familiarity with MEDDPICC or a comparable enterprise sales methodology.

• Ability to work independently and influence others without direct authority.

• Up to 30% travel may be necessary.
