Principal Software Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with functional and development teams to identify, document, and execute test cases that align with both business and technical requirements.

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to design comprehensive test coverage.

• Create, develop, execute, and maintain UI automated test scripts and frameworks utilizing Playwright.

• Identify stable web elements and construct robust automated tests for dynamic web interfaces.

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain API test scripts to validate service functionality, integration, and data flows.

• Report, track, and verify defects effectively.

• Provide test documentation, metrics, and status reports to enhance stakeholder visibility and decision-making processes.

• Implement test automation fundamentals within CI/CD pipelines to support regression coverage and ensure release quality.

• Define and enhance test engineering practices, testing standards, and consistent quality processes across scrum teams.

• Collaborate, share best practices in testing, and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 9+ years of experience; or a Master's degree with 5+ years of experience.

• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

• Candidates must possess the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts/frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing.

• Experience in providing clear test documentation, metrics, and quality reports to stakeholders.

• Practical knowledge and experience with testing tools such as Selenium, Jira, Playwright, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is preferred.

• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript is desirable.

• Awareness of GitLab for infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

• Familiarity with Agile and/or DevOps methodologies is preferred.

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC) is desirable.

• Experience in testing APIs and Web Services is advantageous.

• Ability to quickly comprehend business processes and convert them into technical requirements is preferred.

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills are desirable.

• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills are preferred.

• Highly detail-oriented and well-organized.
