This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.
• Design, develop, and maintain expansive distributed systems on Azure utilizing .NET/C#.
• Navigate and contribute to both intricate legacy and contemporary codebases.
• Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to enhance domain knowledge and convert requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead architectural choices, conduct trade-off analyses, and formulate technical strategies.
• Take full ownership of backend services, which includes APIs, data access, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor and assist engineers to enhance engineering quality and practices.
• Work collaboratively across organizational boundaries to ensure technical work aligns with business objectives.
• Detect and address systemic issues within production environments, tooling, and development processes.
• Over 10 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong expertise in C# and .NET, including .NET 6+ / ASP.NET Core.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, covering App Services, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, Key Vault, and Entra ID.
• Capability to work independently in ambiguous and complex environments involving large codebases and distributed systems.
• Proven history of shipping and maintaining production backend systems at scale.
• Experience in regulated or domain-specific sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, or finance.
• Excellent communication abilities and a knack for building relationships with non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable with comprehensive ownership from requirement gathering to deployment and operational support.
• Previous experience in Health & Life Sciences technology, including EHR/EMR systems, clinical data, regulatory compliance, HIPAA, or HL7/FHIR.
• Proficient with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code using Bicep or Terraform.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures, microservices patterns, and distributed messaging.
• Experience with data-centric systems, pipelines, or ML/AI integrations in healthcare.
• A background in leading cross-team initiatives or acting as a technical anchor on high-impact projects.
