Principal Software Engineer, Load Balancer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Define and enhance the architecture of our enterprise-level load balancer.

• Lead the design and development of the load balancer’s data plane, control plane, and orchestration tools for efficient traffic management and high availability within Kubernetes.

• Mentor the team through technical choices, design evaluations, and performance/security improvements.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to ensure technical strategies align with business objectives.

• Contribute to and maintain engineering best practices, code quality, and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in developing load balancing software, ideally with Go.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Cloud Native workloads, and/or distributed systems.

• Understanding of Linux systems design, security, and/or networking, including the Linux kernel.

• Passion for writing high-quality and efficient code.

• Experience in designing and implementing APIs.

• A demonstrated history of contributions to open-source projects is advantageous.
