This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.
β’ Oversee the design and implementation of new functionalities in the Linux kernel, focusing on BPF, the networking stack, and/or the security subsystem.
β’ Integrate new Linux kernel functionalities into Cilium and/or Tetragon.
β’ Work collaboratively with a small technical team on innovative features.
β’ Actively engage with the upstream Linux kernel community.
β’ Collaborate with engineering, product teams, and customers to ensure alignment of future technical directions with business objectives.
β’ Contribute to and maintain high engineering standards, code quality, and operational excellence.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in upstream Linux kernel development.
β’ At least 5 years of experience in C programming.
β’ A public history of contributions to open-source code is essential.
β’ In-depth knowledge of Linux systems design, performance, security, and/or networking, as well as the Linux kernel.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of experience in upstream Linux kernel development.
β’ At least 5 years of experience with C, BPF, and Go.
β’ Proven experience in designing and implementing APIs.
β’ Experience with production systems at scale is preferred.
β’ A background in networking is advantageous.
β’ Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud-native workloads, and/or distributed systems.
β’ A strong desire to produce high-quality and efficient code.
β’ A self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
