Principal Software Engineer, EDI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain maps, guidelines, and profiles using Edifecs tools such as EDIFECS SpecBuilder, Map Builder, and EAM.

• Create maps and guidelines for healthcare EDI transactions including 837, 834, 835, and 820.

• Design, develop, and implement solutions utilizing Edifecs technology.

• Tackle technical and business issues related to EDI product enhancements.

• Configure XEngine configuration files for partner-specific validations.

• Oversee and troubleshoot transmissions within Edifecs Transaction Manager.

• Set up severity files for tailored error validation.

• Collaborate with application teams and support the QA department.

• Act as a technical and industry expert for management, clients, and the development team.

• Provide insights on internal and industry IT technical capabilities and business process capabilities.

• Identify and suggest new IT opportunities and enhancements related to application development.

• Develop and manage task identification, effort estimation, and work schedules for research, prototypes, and proof-of-concept projects.

• Lead and engage in data management, application architecture, business architecture, and development tasks.

• Mentor staff on complex assignments and introduce them to new technologies.

• Establish scalable, stable, and secure coding standards for software engineers.

• Produce high-quality code and assist in problem-solving, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and training.

• Write technical blogs and contribute to the open-source community.

• Utilize Design Thinking methodologies in application design.

• Spearhead Agile software development initiatives as a Technical Leader.

• Guide engineers in TDD, ATDD, and pair programming practices.

• Assist teams in creating DevOps environments for applications.

• Review application metrics and take necessary actions based on code quality, business, and performance metrics.

• Develop strategies for load and performance testing and perform advanced performance optimization.

• Execute additional responsibilities aligned with the role as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of relevant experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining high-quality, secure software in IT.

• Strong critical thinking skills.

• Proven problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Familiarity with the Edifecs Healthcare 9.x suite and Healthcare Payer systems.

• In-depth knowledge of healthcare EDI transaction sets, including 270/271, 820, 834, 837 I/P/D, and 835.

• Understanding of software development and implementation methodologies.

• Ability to configure Edifecs tools and comprehend systems integration, application and technical behavior, and business/technical requirements.

• Experience in developing Groovy scripts.

• Knowledge of Agile development environments.

• Proficiency in DevOps, cloud computing, containers, microservices, continuous delivery, and continuous integration.

• Experience in designing and developing scalable AWS applications using CloudFormation, EC2, SWF, ELB, Lambda, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, and related tools.

• Familiarity with TDD, ATDD, pair programming, load testing, performance tuning, and application metrics.

• A Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience may be accepted.
