Principal Software Engineer, Developer Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Deliver senior technical guidance for quality systems within Developer Platforms.

• Create production-ready platforms that enhance software validation and boost release confidence across Splunk.

• Collaborate with technical leaders from Splunk and Cisco to convert architectural changes into actionable platform strategies.

• Oversee modernization and migration initiatives across various engineering teams.

• Engage in hands-on contributions while mentoring senior engineers.

• Develop robust platforms that are embraced by teams and significantly enhance delivery confidence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in software engineering focused on designing, building, and managing production-quality systems or internal platforms.

• At least 3 years of experience in developer platforms, quality engineering, testing frameworks, CI/CD, build systems, release automation, infrastructure platforms, or developer tools.

• Proficient in automated testing, release pipelines, service architecture, distributed systems, or similar contemporary software development methodologies.

• Proven experience in leading architectural transformations, platform modernization, or extensive technical migrations across multiple engineering teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Skilled in providing technical leadership across teams without direct reporting authority.

• Experience in constructing platforms for large internal engineering teams or organizations with thousands of developers.

• Familiarity with AI-driven engineering workflows, quality analytics, or innovative developer productivity technologies.

• Capability to clarify complex technical concepts and align engineers, managers, and various cross-functional stakeholders.

• A strong enthusiasm for enhancing developer experience, engineering quality, automation, and software delivery reliability.
