Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement essential platform components throughout the AI-SOC stack, which includes data ingestion pipelines, query engines, investigation orchestration, and layers for integrating ML models.

• Take ownership of the technical direction for complex and ambiguous challenges, establishing interfaces, data contracts, and scalable system boundaries.

• Collaborate with ML/AI engineers to create infrastructure that trains, serves, and assesses disposition models.

• Set and advocate for engineering standards related to system design, data modeling, testing, and observability.

• Lead design reviews and offer technical guidance to senior and staff engineers.

• Identify and address performance, reliability, and scalability challenges within the distributed investigation pipeline.

• Work alongside Product Management to define requirements and balance the need for speed with the long-term health of the platform.

• Contribute to architectural decisions across teams and represent AI-SOC engineering in larger platform and infrastructure discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering.

• Proven history of leading the design of complex, high-scale systems in distributed environments.

• Extensive knowledge of data systems, including stream processing (e.g., Kafka, Flink), distributed query engines, data modeling, and storage systems (e.g., DynamoDB, S3, data mesh patterns).

• Solid understanding of ML/AI system design, which encompasses model serving infrastructure, feature pipelines, embedding systems, or LLM integration.

• Experience in designing systems where correctness, latency, and throughput are critical.

• Experience in cloud-native environments; AWS experience is preferred.

• Strong understanding of infrastructure patterns relevant to AI/ML workloads.

• Familiarity with security operations, detection engineering, or threat intelligence pipelines is advantageous.

• A genuine intellectual curiosity about the security domain.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-engineering stakeholders.
