Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Plan, develop, and coordinate activities related to the design, development, coding, testing, research, programming, and documentation of software systems, applications, and/or operating systems.

• Utilize structured methodologies for modeling, designing, and coding.

• Review design documentation consistently throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Create and execute test plans and scripts for unit, integration, system, regression, performance, load, and acceptance testing.

• Implement software system testing procedures and document the outcomes.

• Analyze software requirements to assess design feasibility while considering quality assurance, time, and budget constraints.

• Engage in formal design and implementation processes.

• Develop requirements, write code, and establish unit and other automated testing solutions.

• Provide accurate effort estimates to engineering management for anticipated work.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, coding, testing, researching, programming, and documenting software systems, applications, and/or operating systems.

• Proficiency in modeling, designing, and coding using structured methods.

• Capability to review software development design documentation.

• Experience in creating and executing unit, integration, system, regression, performance, load, and acceptance test plans and scripts.

• Familiarity with software system testing procedures and documentation of results.

• Ability to analyze software requirements for feasibility within quality assurance, time, and cost constraints.

• Experience in participating in formal design and implementation activities.

• Competence in developing requirements, writing code, and creating unit and other automated testing solutions.

• Ability to provide precise effort estimates.

• Must be authorized to work within the U.S.
