This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
β’ Spearhead the technical strategy to transition HubSpot from a fixed SaaS subscription model to a dynamic contracting platform that supports usage-based, commit-based, and enterprise-grade pricing.
β’ Define and take ownership of the architecture for contract lifecycle management, usage metering, entitlement enforcement, and pricing model extensibility utilizing the Corex contract orchestration framework.
β’ Regularly write production code, lead design reviews, and manage initiatives from architectural design through to implementation.
β’ Drive collaborative technical efforts across three Adaptive Monetization teams and the wider fintech organization.
β’ Gradually enhance the load-bearing legacy contract infrastructure while ensuring its reliability.
β’ Boost resilience and observability in systems that generate production pages.
β’ Interpret architectural choices for stakeholders in finance, compliance, legal, and executive roles.
β’ Influence the product roadmap and pricing strategy by providing technical tradeoff insights.
β’ Represent engineering viewpoints regarding pricing strategy, contract flexibility, and go-to-market modifications.
β’ Mentor senior and staff engineers throughout the Fintech organization.
β’ Collaborate with other principal engineers in Fintech on strategies that minimize complexity and enhance reliability.
β’ Engage in recruitment efforts and assist in elevating the hiring standards for fintech technical talent.
β’ Demonstrated experience in designing and evolving distributed systems with stringent financial accuracy requirements, such as billing infrastructure, payment processing, contract management, or usage metering.
β’ Experience working at a publicly traded company where a focus on audit rigor, compliance constraints, and real-money implications influenced software development.
β’ Capability to effectively manage complex, legacy systems that cannot be paused or rewritten.
β’ Excellent executive communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical architecture decisions to CFOs and compliance officers.
β’ A mentorship-oriented mindset.
β’ Comfort in navigating ambiguity and making sound decisions swiftly.
β’ Extensive backend engineering proficiency in financial logic, data models, and service contracts.
β’ Practical experience in writing production code, leading design reviews, assessing architectures, and guiding technical direction.
β’ Ability to make principled decisions regarding tradeoffs between correctness, compliance, and product speed.
β’ Annual cash compensation that includes a base salary and may feature on-target commission and annual bonus targets for eligible roles.
