Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications and services, covering requirements, implementation, testing, documentation, and production support.

• Create responsive front-end interfaces and cloud-based back-end services.

• Enhance application performance and monitor applications for errors, latency, and usage.

• Take ownership of alerting, incident response, and conducting root-cause analysis.

• Incorporate AI features such as natural-language queries, predictive insights, recommendations, and conversational interfaces.

• Anchor AI features in knowledge graphs and ontologies for semantic search and reasoning over operational data.

• Develop and expose reusable AI capabilities through MCP servers.

• Integrate machine learning models and LLM APIs into production applications.

• Create agentic workflows that initiate actions and update records with human approval and audit logging.

• Transition models from experimental phases to reliable, production-grade features.

• Establish and uphold application coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.

• Review application code for accuracy, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Set up CI/CD, automated testing, and version-control workflows.

• Develop reusable components, templates, and utilities.

• Mentor and guide junior software engineers and BI developers.

• Convert ambiguous business challenges into project plans and application tasks.

• Collaborate with BI leadership on the application roadmap and engage stakeholders on requirements and priorities.

• Lead application projects of moderate to high complexity and shape technical direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.

• At least 8 years of practical experience in building and deploying full-stack applications to production.

• Strong knowledge of modern front-end and back-end technologies.

• Experience in embedding machine learning models, LLM APIs, and agentic workflows into production applications.

• Experience in building MCP servers or equivalent tool interfaces for production use.

• Experience in modeling domain knowledge using knowledge graphs and ontologies.

• Familiarity with cloud application hosting and contemporary data platforms like Databricks, AWS, or Snowflake.

• Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, code review, and secure-by-default practices.

• Capability to debug across the front end, API, database, and integrations.

• Excellent communication skills for interactions with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Effective collaboration skills with BI developers, data and AI/ML engineers, and business stakeholders.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screen, if applicable.

• A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
