Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and sustain full-stack applications that support improvements in data quality, error resolution, and operational workflows across ICE mission systems.

• Convert operational and technical requirements into secure, scalable front-end interfaces and back-end services.

• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and system owners to create user-focused solutions.

• Incorporate automation, AI/ML components, and data-driven functionalities into current applications.

• Perform code reviews and engage in Agile ceremonies, as well as continuous integration and deployment activities.

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues throughout the complete technology stack.

• Generate and maintain technical documentation, including system design artifacts, development processes, and user instructions.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices to enhance LESA’s data quality initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in full-stack development.

• Demonstrated experience as a Full Stack Developer or in a similar capacity, showcasing a strong portfolio of web applications.

• Expertise in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular.

• Solid understanding of back-end programming languages such as Node.js, Python, or Java.

• Familiarity with database management systems like MySQL or MongoDB.

• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and the integration of third-party services.

• Exceptional debugging and troubleshooting capabilities with an emphasis on performance optimization.

• Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) or other relevant agile certifications.

• Required: SECRET Security clearance or the ability to acquire one, as necessary for accessing sensitive information.
