Principal Software Engineer – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create internal AI agents, LLMs, and reasoning loops to tackle complex multi-step tasks.

• Develop robust, full-stack enterprise web components ensuring high performance and security.

• Oversee and enhance the interaction between AI agents and data.

• Produce clean, secure, and maintainable code.

• Facilitate thorough code reviews and lead refactoring initiatives.

• Design and execute unit and functional tests for both traditional code and non-deterministic AI workflows.

• Construct and scale AI agent systems within Convoso's enterprise SaaS application.

• Establish core agentic logic, frameworks, and high-performance backend infrastructure for scalable intelligent automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expert-level capability to build and manage autonomous agents that can plan, reason, and execute multi-step tasks through reasoning loops (e.g., React).

• Direct experience in developing internal logic and interface layers enabling LLMs to interact with APIs, databases, and system functions.

• Practical skills in creating automated unit and functional testing frameworks for non-deterministic AI agent outputs and workflows.

• Extensive experience in developing production-grade features utilizing LLM APIs such as OpenAI and Claude, focusing on context window management, prompt optimization, and cost monitoring.

• Expert proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude.

• Proficient in MySQL and relational databases, including crafting complex raw queries.

• Strong understanding of Go concurrency patterns, memory management, garbage collection behaviors, and profiling.

• Deep familiarity with Linux/POSIX systems and TCP/UDP sockets, WebSockets, and gRPC.

• Experience in designing transactional state machines, resilient webhook/event pipelines, and defensive API integrations.

• Background in writing integration tests and stress tests, along with instrumenting observability and debugging end-to-end processes.

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, design patterns, and clean coding practices applied to large-scale web applications.

• Practical knowledge of model evaluation, experiment tracking, and monitoring production performance.

• Strong problem-solving abilities focused on translating business requirements into prioritized technical development.
