Distinguished Forward Deployed Engineer, AI Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Oversee architectural design evaluations for zero-trust, high-availability AI safety architectures within enterprise settings

• Develop production-quality code in Python, Go, or C++ to integrate Prisma AIRS into enterprise microservices and AI frameworks

• Create high-throughput middleware and proxy extensions for real-time prompt security and identity-aware access controls

• Design automated infrastructure-as-code deployment modules and SDK wrappers

• Enhance low-latency traffic paths for streaming LLM payloads, intelligent caching, and global load balancing

• Act as the tier-4 escalation contact for urgent production outages and intricate distributed systems

• Evaluate telemetry pipelines to address edge-case failures within LangChain and LlamaIndex agentic frameworks

• Contribute custom plugins, platform optimizations, and core engine improvements to Prisma AIRS repositories

• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to convert recurring enterprise architectural models into native product functionalities

• Write enterprise reference architectures and whitepapers that establish AI security and compliance standards

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in professional software development and distributed systems architecture in production environments

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience

• Master-level expertise in Python, Go, or C++

• Proficient in asynchronous programming and high-concurrency systems

• Significant experience in designing and managing API gateways such as Envoy and Kong

• Familiarity with enterprise protocols including gRPC and REST

• In-depth knowledge of LLM orchestration, vector databases, runtime guardrails, and prompt injection mitigation

• Advanced skills in containerization, custom Kubernetes operators, service meshes, and infrastructure-as-code across leading cloud providers

• Thorough understanding of enterprise security protocols, data loss prevention, and network segmentation frameworks

• Capability to build consensus and collaborate with executive leadership to translate mandates into engineering designs

• Comfortable presenting to executives and troubleshooting live production incidents

• Preferred: experience in securing autonomous AI agent architectures and tool-use execution environments

• Preferred: contributions to open-source AI security tools, red-teaming research, or LLM vulnerability benchmark suites

• Preferred: expertise in Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog

• Preferred: experience in synthetic data generation, ML-driven data sanitization pipelines, and offline evaluation sandboxes
