This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
• Drive business development efforts for CMS and CMMI, encompassing capture planning, client interaction, opportunity development, proposal creation, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Act as Project Director or senior evaluation authority for intricate evaluations of Medicare payment and service delivery models.
• Manage project execution, quality assurance, staffing, client relationships, and strategic direction.
• Deliver senior technical guidance for evaluations of CMMI models and demonstrations.
• Utilize quasi-experimental designs, mixed-methods research, Medicare and/or Medicaid claims analysis, beneficiary and provider outcomes, and subgroup analyses.
• Mentor and supervise team members, establishing developmental objectives and metrics for staff performance.
• Cultivate an environment that appreciates diverse perspectives, experiences, backgrounds, and individual strengths.
• Ph.D. in Economics, Health Services Research, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 7 years of pertinent work experience in managing and conducting research or related activities, or a Master’s degree with at least 11 years of relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management.
• Held a leadership position on one or more CMMI model evaluation contracts.
• Proven track record of leading or contributing to successful proposals for CMS, AHRQ, or other HHS agencies.
• Extensive understanding of Medicare payment policy, Medicare Advantage, and/or Medicaid.
• Familiarity with Medicare claims, provider claims, survey data, and publicly accessible datasets.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with federal clients and stakeholders.
• Skill in communicating complex evaluation results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Must exhibit strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal abilities at a senior level.
• Capability to lead teams, particularly for business development tasks during pre-RFP planning and design, and through the proposal response process.
• Significant success in writing, conceptualizing, analyzing, and consulting on large-scale federally funded projects.
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in writing.
• Currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
