This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Spearhead foundational and strategic research that informs product strategy, experience direction, and investment.
• Identify key questions where a deeper understanding of customers can alter the course of work.
• Integrate insights from customers, clients, and colleagues into the roadmap, planning, and product strategy.
• Link qualitative research, behavioral data, voice of customer feedback, and operational signals.
• Establish the research practice encompassing methods, standards, participant engagement, ethics, consent, and knowledge management.
• Develop standards and systems to facilitate high-quality research throughout the organization.
• Empower designers and product managers to conduct effective discovery by providing guidance, tools, and frameworks.
• Mentor researchers, designers, and product managers on best practices in research.
• Leverage AI and innovative research methodologies to accelerate learning while maintaining rigor.
• Convert research findings into frameworks, narratives, and decision-making tools.
• Communicate evidence and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Synthesize insights across studies and over time to discern patterns in customer behavior and needs.
• Monitor how research influences decisions, priorities, and outcomes.
• Investigate customer, client, and colleague interactions with conversational, agentic, and adaptive experiences.
• Examine trust, expectations, control, transparency, recovery, and handoff in dynamic experiences.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to assess AI-enabled experiences.
• Create research methodologies for adaptive experiences.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Adhere to all policies and standards.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Over 10 years of user research, design research, behavioral research, or related experience within a product organization.
• Profound proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Strong discernment in selecting the appropriate research approach for specific questions and decisions.
• Proven history of research significantly impacting product, experience, or business direction.
• Experience in establishing or substantially enhancing a research practice, including scalable and democratized discovery models.
• Background in mentoring researchers, designers, and product managers regarding research skills and judgment.
• Extensive experience utilizing behavioral and digital analytics alongside qualitative research, with platforms like Quantum Metric, Heap, Amplitude, FullStory, or similar.
• Demonstrated proficiency in employing AI throughout study design, synthesis, analysis, pattern recognition, and communication.
• Experience functioning in continuous discovery and delivery settings.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to impose structure on ambiguity and influence senior stakeholders with evidence.
