Principal Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of testing projects that involve multiple teams, from defining verification requirements to final completion.

• Develop reusable tools for test data and environment setup.

• Identify and address quality risks across teams.

• Lead the transition from the legacy end-to-end testing suite to domain-specific testing frameworks.

• Collaborate with principal quality engineers on quality initiatives at the organizational level.

• Write, review, and maintain both test code and test framework code.

• Contribute to shared test tools, test data utilities, and common test libraries.

• Design and implement tests alongside teams that lack a dedicated quality engineer.

• Diagnose flaky and failing tests to determine root causes.

• Review specifications to ensure alignment with implementations and tests.

• Provide a real-time Risk Radar to Directors, focusing on release confidence.

• Architect and maintain automation frameworks and AI agents that assist developers in generating test suites.

• Expertise in software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

• Proficiency in writing production-grade code in multiple programming languages.

• Advanced understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, release pipelines, and monitoring systems.

• Capability to critique technical designs effectively.

• Ability to influence decisions regarding long-term quality risks without direct authority.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent practical experience is required.

• Typically requires 12+ years of relevant experience.
