This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Develop and lead the long-term vision, product strategy, and execution plan for Akamai Cloud developer tooling.

• Enhance existing enterprise API pathways while improving API quality, consistency, and overall platform performance.

• Innovate next-generation developer interfaces for AI agents and LLM-driven workflows utilizing Model Context Protocol endpoints.

• Partner with engineering teams on API design standards, OpenAPI specifications, schema governance, and API Gateway functionalities.

• Manage product development for official developer tools, including CLI, SDKs, and Infrastructure as Code providers.

• Shape the strategy for optimizing and integrating Developer Experience across various platforms.


⛳️ Requirements

• 15 years of pertinent experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.

• Proficiency in designing REST, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs.

• Experience in delivering developer tools such as CLIs, SDKs, and Terraform providers.

• In-depth knowledge of API Gateway architectures, traffic management, and authentication protocols including OAuth2 and mTLS.

• A demonstrated history of advancing mature developer platforms.

• Experience managing breaking-change lifecycles without interfering with existing workloads.

• Technical proficiency in CNCF technologies.

• Expertise in Kubernetes.

• Background in cloud infrastructure, monitoring, database management, and data visualization tools.

• Understanding of open-source developer ecosystems.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code automation communities.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms.
