Principal Presales, Systems Engineer

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable technical advisor for customers, partners, and account teams throughout the entire sales process.

• Collaborate with sales teams to comprehend customer needs, formulate account strategies, and pinpoint business opportunities.

• Design, architect, validate, and promote solutions for data center, WAN, cloud, AI infrastructure, and open networking.

• Facilitate technical discovery sessions, architecture workshops, executive presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities.

• Create solution architectures, implementation strategies, migration plans, and engineering bills of materials.

• Manage and deliver technical submissions for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.

• Establish and nurture relationships with customer stakeholders and industry partners.

• Provide guidance to customers on data center modernization, AI networking, cloud connectivity, WAN transformation, network automation, and open networking.

• Work alongside Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, and strategic partners to advocate for customer needs and impact product strategy.

• Stay updated on industry trends and competitive solutions, sharing insights through enablement, presentations, mentorship, and professional growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in technical pre-sales, Systems Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Network Engineering, Consulting, or similar customer-facing technical positions.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

• Proven experience in designing, architecting, and delivering large-scale Data Center, WAN, Cloud, AI Infrastructure, and Service Provider networking solutions.

• In-depth knowledge of EVPN/VXLAN, spine-leaf and Clos fabrics, underlay/overlay networking, DCI, and Ethernet fabric technologies.

• Solid understanding of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, Segment Routing, Traffic Engineering, and Layer 2/Layer 3 VPN services.

• Experience with WAN architectures for enterprise, cloud, and service providers, as well as network modernization and cloud connectivity.

• Background in supporting AI, HPC, cloud, and extensive distributed application environments.

• Strong technical proficiency in routing, switching, and network infrastructure technologies.

• Capability to engage technical and business stakeholders through presentations, workshops, and consultative selling.

• Experience in developing responses for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs, and leading solution validation efforts.

• Practical experience with HPE Networking, Juniper, or other leading networking platforms and management solutions.

• Familiarity with open networking, network disaggregation, or SONiC-based solutions.

• Readiness to travel as required.

• Industry certifications such as JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE, AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent technical certifications are preferred.
