This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and take ownership of program architecture and technical strategies.
• Oversee technical development projects in collaboration with Program Management.
• Act as the technical lead for programs, coordinating efforts with internal engineers, vendors, and contractors.
• Recognize and manage technical risks alongside the Program Manager.
• Handle technical requirements through traceability, decomposition, derivation, verification, and validation processes.
• Break down and allocate high-level requirements into detailed specifications for functional groups, components, and suppliers.
• Guide and mentor junior team members while contributing to the development of the technical team.
• Function as a technical leader, aiding in engineering strategy and fostering team growth.
• Investigate and propose investments or modifications in technology, toolsets, procedures, equipment, and systems.
• Engage and collaborate with customers and suppliers throughout the design development phase.
• Evaluate and validate documentation for the transition from prototype to production.
• Offer engineering support to troubleshoot and diagnose underperforming products, including root cause analysis and lessons learned.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for clients.
• Lead a multidisciplinary project team consisting of experts in thermal analysis, installation, mechanical design and analysis, reliability, controls, electronics, software, and testing.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, ideally within Thermal Management Systems.
• Proficient understanding of aerospace technical disciplines, including requirements management, technical verification and validation methodologies, mechanical design, materials, modeling/documentation, structural analysis, thermal fluid sciences, electrical systems, system controls, embedded controls, development testing and analysis, and qualification analysis and testing.
• Knowledge of aerospace requirements management methodologies and processes, including traceability, decomposition, derivation, verification, and validation.
• Familiarity with major aircraft systems, including environmental control systems, powerplant, electrical, hydraulics, controls, avionics, power generation, and structures.
• Experience with Vapor Cycle Systems, Liquid Cooling Systems, and/or Air Cycle Systems.
• Knowledge of standard components in VCS, LCS, and ACS, such as heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, valves, motors and motor controllers, and water collectors/separators.
• Understanding of environmental testing and qualification methods like MIL-STD-810 and DO-160.
• Experience using requirements management tools and model-based systems engineering tools and processes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Proven capability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
• Proven track record of leading programs and projects successfully.
• Ability to document, plan, promote, and execute programs efficiently.
• Established project management skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must demonstrate U.S. Person status: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, or granted asylee/refugee status.
