Principal Network Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee the architectural design and development of software that supports Akamai's global connectivity platform.

• Propel software-defined automation to reduce operational toil and enhance the reliability of network infrastructure.

• Develop telemetry systems and observability stacks for real-time monitoring of global network traffic and security services.

• Advocate for software engineering best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and SDLC standards through multidisciplinary architecture and engineering teams.

• Direct capacity planning strategies and cost optimization for distributed routing, fabric, and edge security systems.

• Design scalable infrastructure.

• Guide engineering teams throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15 years of relevant experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in network and software engineering.

• Expert-level proficiency in Python, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Source of Truth platforms.

• Demonstrated expertise in large-scale IP routing and network fabric architectures.

• Experience in designing cloud-native infrastructure, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code deployment frameworks.

• Ability to swiftly adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
