Network Engineer – Office Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee and enhance the office network infrastructure, primarily utilizing MikroTik, with Ubiquiti deployed at various locations.

• Reassess network segmentation across all office sites, improve current infrastructure, and eliminate bottlenecks.

• Create and implement high-availability solutions for network equipment and WAN connectivity.

• Establish network monitoring systems and introduce services to streamline network management.

• Maintain and refresh the corporate Wiki, network diagrams for key office locations, and the organization's IP address space via IPAM.

• Prepare and configure network equipment remotely for new office openings.

• Collaborate closely with Internet service providers and the team managing the data center network core.

• Identify and resolve incidents related to network infrastructure and associated services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in configuring, routing, and troubleshooting MikroTik RouterOS environments.

• Strong understanding of configuring and managing UniFi and Edge product lines.

• Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, the OSI model, routing, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and NAT.

• Hands-on experience designing and supporting high-availability environments, including link redundancy and load balancing.

• Solid background with Ubuntu Linux, encompassing network service configuration and basic server administration.

• Familiarity with IP address management solutions such as NetBox, phpIPAM, or similar tools.

• Experience in maintaining network documentation and diagrams using Confluence, Notion, draw.io, Visio, or comparable tools.

• Proven experience deploying, configuring, and customizing monitoring platforms like Zabbix, Prometheus/Grafana, Nagios, or equivalent solutions.

• English proficiency — B2 (Upper-Intermediate) or above.

• Ability to communicate effectively in written English with external vendors and colleagues.

• Capability to work independently, adopt a structured approach to problem-solving, and maintain well-organized infrastructure and documentation.

• Excellent written and verbal Russian is crucial for this position.

• Experience with IP telephony, including Asterisk administration and configuration (desirable).

• Relevant certifications such as MTCNA, MTCRE, CCNA, or equivalent (desirable).

• Understanding of FortiGate architecture and operation (desirable).

• Basic automation skills using Bash, Python, or Ansible (desirable).
