This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Architect, design, and develop scalable simulation software systems tailored for robotic and automation solutions.
• Spearhead the development and integration of simulation environments utilizing Emulate3D / Sim3D.
• Design and implement simulation frameworks, APIs, and services that integrate seamlessly with production robotic software systems.
• Employ MBSE principles to define system behavior, interfaces, and performance characteristics within simulation environments.
• Create high-performance, reliable software for system-level modeling, validation, and optimization.
• Collaborate with teams in robotics, perception, controls, and applications to ensure simulation aligns with real-world system behavior.
• Develop tools and infrastructure for testing, debugging, and validating robotic systems in simulated environments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, establishing best practices in simulation and software engineering.
• Shape engineering strategy and roadmap concerning modeling, simulation, and system architecture.
• Analyze system performance, identify potential risks, and devise mitigation strategies through insights driven by simulation.
• Communicate technical direction, progress, and trade-offs effectively to engineering and product stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of professional software development experience with a focus on modeling, simulation, or complex systems.
• Strong expertise in development using Python and/or C++.
• Capability to architect and deliver large-scale simulation and software systems.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects from inception to production.
• Skill in defining and communicating technical strategies, trade-offs, and priorities.
• Proficiency in navigating and contributing to large, complex codebases.
• An MVP mindset while transitioning solutions from prototype to production.
• Expertise in simulation software development and system modeling frameworks.
• Experience with Emulate3D or Sim3D (Rockwell Automation) is required.
• Proficient with NVIDIA Omniverse, system design and software architecture, asynchronous/concurrent programming, Git, Jira, Linux/Ubuntu, code reviews, testing methodologies, CI/CD, and software design patterns.
• Preferred: experience in robotics, automation, or material handling systems.
• Preferred: familiarity with distributed systems, high-performance simulation, robotics simulation, digital twins, virtual commissioning, MBSE, simulation APIs/SDKs, RESTful/gRPC services, data analysis, performance profiling, Docker/Kubernetes, MongoDB, and HIL/SIL testing.
