This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assign and supervise metering project tasks across various engineers and technicians, personally handling select high-complexity assignments while mentoring others.

• Facilitate client and project meetings, acting as the Client Team Lead for multiple metering clients.

• Manage client relationships and collaborate with SCADA, protection, and network disciplines.

• Act as the technical authority for revenue metering design, programming, testing, commissioning, certification, and troubleshooting.

• Develop and implement company-wide metering standards, procedures, and training materials.

• Apply owner design criteria and interpret ANSI, IEEE, ISO/RTO, NEC, and tariff requirements.

• Create technical scopes of work, labor and equipment estimates, resource plans, proposals, and budgets.

• Generate or revise SLD, 3LD, schematics, logic diagrams, and wiring diagrams.

• Design metering panels and supervise subcontractor panel assembly.

• Approve quality checklists and test plans while promoting continuous improvement.

• Prepare specifications for equipment and material purchases, selecting suitable metering equipment.

• Program, install, test, troubleshoot, and certify revenue and check meters, as well as electronic data recorders.

• Develop standard meter programs and complex programs that require advanced loss compensation.

• Verify wiring and meter accuracy, investigate issues, perform repairs, and provide customer support.

• Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing for communication parameters and revenue data output.

• Educate engineers and technicians on meter applications, installation, maintenance, CT and test switch wiring, field testing, and software usage.

• Establish and uphold schedules, providing timely progress updates.

• Operate independently in the field while coordinating with clients.

• Offer guidance to the department on estimating, budgeting, and metering best practices.


⛳️ Requirements

• A recognized expert in metering with a history of presentations, publications, or committee involvement.

• Strong proficiency and operational knowledge of revenue metering systems.

• Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, and NEC regulations relevant to revenue metering and instrument transformers.

• Experienced with meter configuration software from manufacturers like SEL, Schneider, GE, and AMETEK.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.

• Capability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

• Willingness to work in the office, meter shop, field, and autonomously.

• Keen attention to detail, a sense of ownership regarding work quality, integrity, and a commitment to excellence.

• Ability to read and trace AutoCAD engineering drawings, including SLD, 3LD, logic diagrams, and DC schematics.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Copilot.

• Familiarity with CAISO, ERCOT, and other ISO/RTO documentation is an advantage.

• A four-year technical degree in an engineering discipline is required.

• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

• Membership in industry committees and regular participation is preferred.

• A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in revenue metering is preferred.

• Ability to work permanently in the US is required.

• A valid driver’s license and the capacity to meet company driving standards are required.

• Willingness to travel nationwide for project locations and training as necessary.
