Principal IT Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement intricate, cross-system solutions collaborating across multiple teams and platforms.

• Establish technical direction and develop architectural standards, patterns, and best practices organization-wide.

• Oversee the development of data pathways between both internal and external systems, which include CRM, AI platforms, and APIs.

• Lead architectural review boards, design assessments, and technical governance discussions.

• Drive technical roadmaps across multiple product increments (PIs) and quarters.

• Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex, ambiguous, or high-risk challenges.

• Provide mentorship and coaching to senior engineers, tech leads, and managers.

• Establish and advocate for coding standards, tooling strategies, and quality assurance processes.

• Identify systemic technical, operational, and organizational risks, while devising mitigation strategies.

• Represent the engineering team in strategic discussions across functions.

• Assess emerging technologies and industry trends and advocate for their adoption.

• Lead technical due diligence for decisions regarding build-vs-buy, platform migrations, and re-architecture initiatives.

• Facilitate the resolution of critical production issues that require in-depth system knowledge and inter-team collaboration.

• Design, implement, and enhance next-generation customer experience orchestration platforms focused on AWS, Genesys Cloud, and Salesforce.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3–5 years of progressive experience in software engineering.

• A minimum of 2 years concentrating on high-scale Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS), CX enterprise software, or Field Services enterprise software.

• Extensive experience in designing and building dependable workflows and integrations within Salesforce.

• Familiarity with AWS services, such as Lambda, EC2, SQS, and Kinesis.

• Production experience utilizing Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.

• Experience with REST and SOAP web services is preferred.

• Profound technical expertise in software engineering, system design, and architecture.

• Proven history of designing and delivering large-scale, distributed, highly available systems.

• Capability to influence technical direction and decision-making at the organizational level.

• Proficiency in agile methodologies, including SAFe/PI planning and scaled agile delivery models.

• Outstanding communication skills and executive presence.

• Experience in mentoring and developing senior engineers and tech leads.

• Background in driving enterprise architecture standards, technology governance, or engineering best-practice initiatives.

• Strong business acumen linking technical strategy to organizational and business outcomes.
