Principal Healthcare Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to health plan executives on product strategy and innovation.

• Oversee product strategy initiatives from initial framing to executive presentations, encompassing portfolio analysis, product concept development, and prioritized roadmaps.

• Design and define competitive health plan products, including benefit and plan structure, network and pricing models, and funding arrangements.

• Collaborate with product, actuarial, finance, and sales teams to achieve a balance between cost, value, and feasibility.

• Assist plans in catering to specific employer group requirements through adaptable offerings and shared capabilities.

• Evaluate market, regulatory, and competitive factors to develop unique offerings.

• Convert product strategy into actionable plans, targets, performance metrics, and timelines.

• Lead strategic initiatives and guide other consultants in operational design, configuration, and enablement.

• Engage in strategic pre-sales activities, conduct executive discoveries, outline client challenges, and create value propositions.

• Formulate practice perspectives and reusable frameworks regarding health plan product strategy and innovation.

• Disseminate insights through customer forums, industry events, and published works, including case studies and proof points of customer outcomes.

• Relay customer and market insights to product management to shape roadmap priorities and positioning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in consulting or advisory roles for health plans.

• Background with a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan or national carrier, or an understanding of Blues plan operations and inter-plan initiatives.

• Proven product leadership across various business lines, including Medicare Advantage product development and bidding experience.

• Knowledge of core payer administration platforms and how their capabilities impact product design.

• Demonstrated thought leadership through published works, industry speaking engagements, or recognized contributions to health plan product strategy.

• A minimum of 10 years' experience in healthcare payer operations, product management, product strategy, healthcare consulting, or similar leadership roles.

• At least 5 years of experience leading intricate strategic initiatives or consulting projects.

• Minimum of 5 years' experience working with or on health plans.

• 8 years of experience in consulting, strategy, or solution design.

• Proven ability to engage with executive stakeholders and influence strategic business decisions.

• Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives that involve multiple business functions and stakeholder groups.

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Finance, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the US.

• Required to use a workstation for at least 8 hours a day.
