Principal Field Clinical Specialist – Mitral & Tricuspid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver daily field clinical study assistance for Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies clinical initiatives.

• Offer technical and educational support, site management, coordination, and training.

• Advocate for clinical programs through investigator education, new technology training, and case support.

• Conduct on-site educational sessions and consulting.

• Aid field personnel in reaching customer outcomes and service goals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement enrollment strategies.

• Participate in conventions, forums, and meetings to enhance product visibility.

• Provide case and educational support to customers in conjunction with Therapy Development Management.

• Identify and promote growth opportunities with the Clinical Support Team.

• Act as a technical resource for medical products and solutions.

• Assist with clinical study procedures, including preparation of Intrepid TMVR/TTVR devices and case support.

• Offer technical assistance, troubleshoot devices and systems, and aid in device suitability and patient selection.

• Provide support involving echocardiography, angiography, and CT imaging modalities.

• Deliver clinical-site product performance feedback for engineering designs and improvements.

• Support research and development efforts in assessing new product ideas and modifications.

• Build and maintain customer relationships and enrollment support with designated sites.

• Establish and uphold connections with principal investigators, research coordinators, operating room/cath lab staff, nursing units, and administrative personnel.

• Serve as the primary contact during patient screening and enrollment, gathering necessary screening materials.

• Coordinate product shipping and returns between internal and external customers.

• Aid in the development and delivery of physician training materials, simulations, didactic sessions, and case studies.

• Train customer sites on Medtronic products through individual sessions, in-service programs, seminars, and symposiums.

• Provide training and resources for procedure certification and activation.

• Educate, mentor, and train internal Medtronic staff.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma/degree with at least 8 years of clinical support experience, or an Associate degree with a minimum of 6 years, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years, or an Advanced degree with at least 2 years.

• Willingness to travel approximately 75%, including international trips.

• Ability to work in Cath Labs or Operating Rooms with radiation exposure.

• Flexibility to work outside the standard Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm schedule.

• Capacity to lift 20 pounds.

• Proficient hearing, sight, and speaking abilities.

• Competency in using computers and CT reconstruction software.

• Ability to travel extensively by car and plane.

• Capability to sit and stand for 8 hours a day.

• Ability to wear a lead apron for extended periods.

• Capable of operating a moving vehicle.

• Must be able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy.

• Willingness to travel with overnight stays up to 75% of the time, including international travel.

• For degrees obtained outside the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

• 3+ years of field experience in the Structural Heart industry (preferred).

• Experience with echocardiographic imaging of the mitral and/or tricuspid valve (preferred).

• Familiarity with CT segmentation and analysis software such as 3Mensio (preferred).

• Experience with trans-septal procedures, including TMVR or LAAC (preferred).

• Background in clinical research, including coordinating multi-center trials (preferred).

• Proficient in presenting, writing, and teaching clinical and medical information (preferred).

• Experience with group presentations and interventional/surgical cardiac procedures (preferred).

• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials (preferred).

• Proficiency in MS Office applications, MS Project or similar scheduling software, and project management techniques and tools (preferred).
