Principal Engineer – Technical Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Create programs aimed at enhancing the capacity, capability, sustainability, and control of utility systems while minimizing the overall delivered cost.

• Conduct technical feasibility evaluations and provide recommendations to cross-functional teams.

• Collaborate with platform engineering leadership to formulate both annual and multi-year capital plans.

• Suggest established improvements for energy and utility systems.

• Utilize strategic thinking, technical knowledge, and practical execution across intricate infrastructure projects.

• Promote innovative and emerging utility solutions that align with business goals.

• Oversee Front End Loading packages and technical briefs related to infrastructure and utility projects.

• Conduct assessments of infrastructure technologies and propose solutions for steam and condensate systems, compressed air systems, air dryers, boilers, hot water systems, and wastewater treatment facilities.

• Work alongside engineering project managers to generate preliminary estimates for capital and expenses, timelines, as well as performance criteria for equipment and systems.

• Identify alternatives, prerequisites, risks, and opportunities linked to suggested utility and energy solutions.

• Review Phase 1 Front End Loading and technical brief packages created by external engineering partners.

• Engage in design reviews to guarantee the implementation of utility technical solutions and adherence to relevant codes.

• Evaluate system performance data and operational metrics to pinpoint opportunities for improvement and develop business cases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

• More than 7 years of technical and project leadership experience in the design and operation of plant utility systems, including steam and condensate, compressed air, boilers, hot water systems, and wastewater treatment.

• Proven experience in delivering thermal recovery initiatives or decreasing energy consumption across utility and process systems.

• Engineering design and operational experience in support of complex utility infrastructure.

• Strong influencing abilities with a demonstrated history of effective engagement with stakeholders across both technical and non-technical teams.

• Willingness to travel up to 50 percent.

• The position may be performed remotely east of Denver, Colorado, within reasonable distance to a major airport, with regular travel to manufacturing facilities.
