This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead studies on transmission systems, including load flow, stability, short-circuit, and voltage assessments.

• Assess grid code adherence and the effects of renewable energy projects on bulk power systems.

• Conduct transient studies of power systems and create detailed equipment models.

• Perform small-signal stability evaluations and suggest mitigation strategies.

• Carry out harmonic and power quality analyses for transmission, distribution, and interconnection initiatives.

• Assist in business development by writing proposals and engaging with clients.

• Simplify complex technical findings into clear, actionable value propositions for clients.

• Represent GE Vernova at regional forums and industry conferences.

• Contribute to technical publications and participate in industry standard working groups.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electric Power Engineering.

• At least seven (7) years of industry experience in short-circuit, transient, steady-state, and dynamic power system analysis.

• Proficient in using ASPEN OneLiner, PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP, PSS®E, TARA, PowerFactory, PSLF, and DSATools.

• Seven (7) years of experience applying Python, MATLAB, and FORTRAN to engineering challenges.

• A Ph.D. in Electrical/Power Engineering with five (5) years of relevant industry experience may substitute for the above qualifications.

• Strong foundation in power system analysis.

• Solid comprehension of inverter-based resource (IBR) control system design and applications.

• Knowledge of RTO/ISO requirements, including those from PJM, CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, and SPP.

• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
