This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee transmission system analyses, including load flow, stability, short-circuit, and voltage evaluations.

• Assess compliance with grid codes and the impacts of renewable energy projects on large-scale power systems.

• Conduct transient studies of power systems and create detailed models for equipment.

• Perform small-signal stability assessments and suggest mitigation strategies.

• Carry out harmonic and power quality evaluations for transmission, distribution, and interconnection initiatives.

• Assist in business development through the preparation of proposals and client interactions.

• Convert intricate technical findings into straightforward, actionable value propositions for clients.

• Represent GE Vernova at regional meetings and industry events.

• Contribute to the development of technical papers and participate in industry standard working groups.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electric Power Engineering is required.

• At least seven (7) years of industry experience in short-circuit, transient, steady-state, and dynamic power system analysis is necessary.

• Proficiency in using software such as ASPEN OneLiner, PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP, PSS®E, TARA, PowerFactory, PSLF, or DSATools.

• Seven (7) years of experience applying Python, MATLAB, or FORTRAN to engineering challenges.

• A Ph.D. in Electrical/Power Engineering with five (5) years of pertinent industry experience may substitute for the above qualifications.

• A robust background in power system analysis is essential.

• Comprehensive knowledge of inverter-based resource (IBR) control system design and usage.

• Familiarity with RTO/ISO standards, including those from PJM, CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, and SPP.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening is required, if applicable.
