This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Assist in the engineering, assessment, implementation, and validation of Transmission Switchyard projects focused on nuclear power generation facilities.
• Engage in switchyard engineering from initial design to construction and commissioning phases.
• Supervise the engineering scope for both Greenfield and Brownfield Switchyard Engineering projects.
• Carry out assigned responsibilities from the initial concept to construction and commissioning.
• Acquire engineering consulting services by crafting scopes of work, obtaining and evaluating bids, and awarding contracts through the Integrated Supply Chain Group.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to secure station locations and gather engineering updates, data, and necessary permits.
• Manage engineering deliverables including scope documents, Issued for Bid, Issued for Procurement, Issued for Construction, design specifications, and as-built drawings.
• Represent both internal and external project interests through presentations and briefings regarding progress, challenges, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Assist Transmission Services in reviewing interconnection documentation and ensuring adherence to ISO standards.
• Liaise with transmission owners, operators, and ISOs to guarantee timely and precise project deliverables.
• Work with multidisciplinary project engineering teams to establish priorities, work plans, and delineation of responsibilities.
• Ensure projects are executed effectively, economically, and safely in alignment with processes, procedures, industry standards, and policies.
• Support Legal with regulatory filings, depositions, and hearings.
• Collaborate with component OEMs to modify designs for compatibility with NEER philosophies.
• Provide engineering, design, and environmental assistance.
• Monitor and report on project negotiations and performance metrics.
• Prepare communications, presentations, and support meeting logistics.
• Investigate and develop measures for improvement.
• Define customer requirements and project costs in conjunction with other departments.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (not Engineering Technology), OR a Master’s degree in Engineering if the Bachelor’s degree is not in a pure engineering discipline.
• At least one degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) must originate from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering following the Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to comply with attendance and storm duty requirements.
• Willingness to work extended hours as needed.
• Certified Professional Engineer (PE) credential is preferred.
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is preferred.
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred.
• A Master's Degree is preferred.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification is preferred.
• Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification is preferred.
