This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Drive the architectural vision, technical roadmap, and development of large-scale, data-intensive SaaS applications across multiple teams.
• Design applications that are data-intensive and spearhead the development of core SaaS platforms, API services, and user interfaces.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Business leadership to refine product strategy and convert business requirements into scalable architectures and technical specifications.
• Scope and estimate enterprise initiatives spanning multiple quarters.
• Provide architectural blueprints and conduct capacity planning.
• Lead hands-on development of critical architectural elements and complex projects.
• Establish standards for code quality, system reliability, and deployment practices.
• Research and recommend internal tools, architectural patterns, frameworks, and processes to enhance efficiency, performance, and service quality.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point for critical incidents.
• Lead root cause analysis and proactive problem management as well as defect prevention initiatives.
• Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
• Over 12 years of software engineering experience, demonstrating a successful track record in a technical leadership and architectural capacity.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent education and work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in designing and building scalable, data-intensive web applications and SaaS products.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in API development using languages such as Java or Kotlin, along with modern frontend frameworks like React or AngularJS.
• More than 5 years’ experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL, NoSQL, and high-volume data pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership across engineering teams, mentoring engineers on architecture and design choices, and establishing scalable engineering practices, patterns, and delivery standards in complex Agile settings.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, RESTful interfaces, and OAS standards.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot services and enterprise integration patterns.
• Understanding of pub/sub architectures, event-driven systems, and cloud-native capabilities.
• Advanced experience with GCP (BigQuery, BigTable, CloudRun) or equivalent enterprise experience with AWS or Azure.
