This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Establish the technical vision, long-term architecture, and engineering roadmap for DNA Platforms.
• Oversee solution design, conduct architecture reviews, and make technical decisions for intricate, multi-team initiatives.
• Create scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable software platforms utilizing distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
• Direct modernization initiatives, platform engineering practices, automation, tooling, and the adoption of CI/CD.
• Set engineering standards, design principles, technical governance, and measurable practices for software quality, observability, performance, reliability, and security.
• Mentor, coach, and nurture engineers and engineering managers through consistent feedback, technical advice, and performance discussions.
• Facilitate technical forums, design reviews, and knowledge-sharing activities across teams located in different geographic areas.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders, product managers, architects, and business stakeholders to address complex technical challenges spanning multiple teams.
• Shape engineering strategy through technical influence rather than direct managerial authority.
• Be prepared to travel occasionally, up to 10%.
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in the architecture and delivery of large-scale enterprise platforms.
• 8+ years of experience in managing and developing teams within engineering, architecture, or platform technology roles.
• 10+ years of experience in designing distributed systems, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and contemporary software delivery practices.
• 8+ years of experience in implementing security, reliability, performance, scalability, observability, and maintainability principles in production systems.
• Proven experience in influencing engineering strategy, technical standards, and delivery decisions across various teams or organizational boundaries.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, site reliability engineering practices, automation, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, relevant experience, and/or military service.
• Background in financial technology, banking, payments, risk, or fraud platforms.
• Experience in leading platform modernization, cloud adoption, or developer productivity projects.
• Understanding of AI-assisted development, platform engineering, and engineering metrics.
• Experience collaborating with geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Proficiency in using a computer and audio equipment.
• Occasional travel up to 10%.
