Principal Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Execute power system analysis and network modeling to meet reliability, regulatory, and quality standards, which includes power flow, voltage stability, transient stability, SSO, and short-circuit studies.

• Carry out studies on generator and load connections along with transmission planning.

• Develop comprehensive technical reports and assist in creating technical deliverables.

• Work in collaboration with a global team to conduct studies and provide high-quality solutions.

• Manage relationships and expectations of clients effectively.

• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.

• Participate in business development initiatives.

• Identify potential new client opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

• Over 6 years of experience in power systems analysis utilizing PSLF or PSS/E and TSAT; experience with PSLF is essential.

• Familiarity with stability studies using PSLF, congestion analysis and cost modeling studies, or cluster feasibility studies within the CAISO footprint and with PG&E; experience with other ISOs or RTOs is advantageous.

• Sound knowledge of electric power systems, synchronous generators, motors, power electronic inverters, wind turbines, and solar technologies.

• Proficient in the PSLF software suite, covering load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analysis modules.

• Experience with alternative planning software such as TARA, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, or DSA Tools is highly beneficial.

• Background in static and dynamic modeling of power system components in PSS/E or DSA Tools, including HVDC, VSC, SVC, STATCOM, and TCSC.

• Understanding of reliability standards and transmission system interconnection.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Willingness or openness to relocation.
