This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the development, enhancement, and execution of sophisticated control systems for essential infrastructure products and automation platforms.
• Create and design wiring harness systems, covering schematics, harness architecture, panel layouts, specifications, component selection, and the transition of designs to manufacturing.
• Direct the implementation of testing processes and ensure the alignment of equipment.
• Define and take ownership of control system architecture across PLC, BMS, EPMS, and ATS platforms.
• Generate control system specifications, functional design documents, and subsystem interface definitions.
• Develop PLC/SCADA programs, HMI systems, and facilitate integrations with IT networks and facility equipment.
• Produce BOMs, visual aids, electrical schematics, control diagrams, and sequences of operations.
• Define control logic, sensor integration, and communication protocols for smart power and cooling management.
• Validate systems through simulation, testing, and commissioning.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
• Create system-level simulations and digital twins to confirm control strategies.
• Design integrations with SCADA, CMMS, and cloud-based monitoring solutions.
• Establish reusable control-logic design patterns and best practices.
• Direct root-cause analysis and the resolution of complex control system challenges.
• Assess emerging automation technologies and trends.
• Develop and maintain architecture, control logic, and operational documentation.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and facilities engineering teams.
• Ensure designs align with business needs, timelines, and operational limitations.
• Facilitate design reviews, technical workshops, and cross-functional planning meetings.
• Provide support to commissioning and field teams during deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and/or internationally.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Over 8 years of experience in control system design and implementation.
• Extensive expertise in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
• Experience in Building Management Systems (BMS) integration and optimization.
• Proficient in Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS/EDPM) for real-time energy analytics.
• Knowledge of Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) control and failover logic.
• Strong command of control theory, system modeling, and simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink).
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP).
• Knowledge of NFPA, IEC, and ISO standards related to control systems and safety.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision as part of a global team.
• Skilled in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
• Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
• Effective in presenting information and addressing inquiries from management, clients, and the public.
• Capable of influencing others, sharing best practices, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Able to evaluate projects, articulate risks, and establish project milestones.
• Familiarity with stage-gate processes in project lifecycle management (PLCM).
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of low- and medium-voltage systems.
• Experience in hyperscale or colocation data center settings.
• Familiarity with EPlan, WindChill, SolidWorks, and DevOps is a plus.
• A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
• An active Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Experience in mission-critical environments such as data centers, manufacturing, or energy systems is preferred.
• Experience with digital twin modeling and predictive maintenance strategies is preferred.
