Principal Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the principal investigator or co-PI on research proposals related to AI and workforce data science.

• Develop research questions, data pipelines, and implement machine-learning or statistical methodologies.

• Oversee the creation and documentation of datasets, ensuring adherence to responsible AI practices.

• Manage analysts and collaborate with domain and implementation partners.

• Compose technical sections, project descriptions, and data management strategies.

• Provide qualifications and narratives of past performance for WIL proposals when authorized to be mentioned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading AI, machine-learning, or applied data science research initiatives.

• Evidence of research leadership through publications, funded projects, or delivered products.

• Proficiency in drafting technical segments of research or innovation grant proposals.

• Strong skills in Python/R and data engineering.

• Ability to work effectively as a project-based contract collaborator; remote work within the US.

• Previous experience as a PI or co-PI on federal research or small-business innovation awards (preferred).

• Experience with workforce, labor market, or health program data (preferred).

• A PhD in computer science, statistics, economics, or a related discipline (preferred).
