Principal Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Define and enhance the architecture of RS’s Snowflake-based Enterprise Data Platform.

• Establish standards, design patterns, and governance practices.

• Lead the technical strategy for the contemporary data stack.

• Ensure that the platform is scalable, secure, cost-effective, and provides high-quality analytics data.

• Offer hands-on technical leadership in data modeling, pipeline design, orchestration, and platform optimization.

• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and architecture teams on comprehensive data solutions.

• Serve as the technical authority for data architecture and guide solution design.

• Lead and nurture a team of Data Architects.

• Convert complex stakeholder requirements into actionable data platform capabilities.

• Drive architectural changes for significant transformation initiatives, migrations, and platform evolution.

• Advocate for AI-powered capabilities and emerging technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a senior or lead Data Architecture position.

• Proven history of designing and delivering scalable data platform solutions.

• Extensive expertise in cloud data platforms, particularly Snowflake.

• Familiarity with dbt, Dagster (or similar), and Airbyte (or equivalent).

• Strong understanding of data modeling, ELT/ETL architectures, data pipelines, and distributed data systems.

• Experience in optimizing cloud data platform performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

• Background in leading, mentoring, or developing technical teams.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

• Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical technical leadership.

• Experience in delivering global data and analytics solutions.

• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA transformations is advantageous.

• Fluent in English with outstanding communication skills.
