Senior Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership to the data team, offering practical guidance to database specialists and developers.

• Define and advance the target data architecture encompassing ingestion, lakehouse design, data modeling, governance, and serving layers.

• Convert business and technical requirements into actionable solutions while selecting suitable frameworks, patterns, and modeling strategies.

• Work collaboratively with client architects and business leaders to showcase architectural options and their respective trade-offs.

• Document architectural decisions to create a unified foundation for the team.

• Set and uphold standards for data quality, access control, data lineage, and privacy.

• Integrate CI/CD and DataOps methodologies to ensure consistent and reliable delivery.

• Lead assessments of the current data state and facilitate knowledge transfer during transitions.

• Create proofs of concept and prototypes to validate architectural strategies and demonstrate value.

• Contribute to CI&T’s shared data methodologies and expertise across various engagements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced English proficiency (C1 level or above) is essential for direct, daily interaction with North American stakeholders.

• Demonstrated experience in designing data architecture and providing hands-on technical leadership to multidisciplinary data teams.

• Strong background in designing, building, and deploying data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and large-scale data products.

• Practical experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake and Unity Catalog, or equivalent expertise in AWS data services.

• Proficient data modeling skills using both dimensional (Kimball) and relational approaches, alongside advanced SQL capabilities.

• Experience in pipeline orchestration and workflow automation tools such as dbt, Databricks Workflows, or Apache Airflow.

• Ability to translate business challenges into practical data solutions and effectively communicate trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Capability to operate within a nearshore delivery model with regular overlap with US Central business hours.
