This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Provide technical leadership to the data team by offering hands-on guidance to database specialists and developers regarding data products and pipelines.
• Define and enhance the target data architecture, which includes ingestion, lakehouse design, data modeling, governance, and serving layers.
• Drive solution design by converting both business and technical requirements into practical solutions.
• Choose the right frameworks, patterns, and modeling techniques.
• Work collaboratively with client architects and business leaders to showcase architectural options and their trade-offs.
• Clearly document architectural decisions to facilitate shared execution within the team.
• Set and uphold standards for data quality, access control, data lineage, and privacy.
• Implement CI/CD and DataOps practices to ensure consistent and reliable delivery.
• Lead assessments of the current data state and facilitate knowledge transfer during transitions.
• Identify priorities that yield measurable business value in incremental phases.
• Create proofs of concept and prototypes to validate architectural strategies and illustrate value.
• Contribute to and leverage CI&T's shared methodologies and expertise in data practices.
• Support a comprehensive, end-to-end technology engagement for a US-based EdTech client.
• Advanced proficiency in English (C1 level or higher) is essential for daily interactions with North American stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in designing data architecture and providing hands-on technical leadership to multidisciplinary data teams.
• Strong experience in creating, building, and deploying data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and scalable data products.
• Practical experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake and Unity Catalog, or equivalent expertise with AWS data services.
• Proficient in data modeling using both dimensional (Kimball) and relational approaches, with advanced SQL skills.
• Familiarity with pipeline orchestration and workflow automation tools, such as dbt, Databricks Workflows, or Apache Airflow.
• Proven ability to translate business challenges into actionable data solutions and effectively communicate trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Capability to work in a nearshore delivery model with consistent overlap with US Central business hours.
• Databricks certification is preferred.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms is preferred.
• Understanding of data governance and privacy principles within regulated industries is preferred.
• Experience with CI/CD and MLOps pipeline practices is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI solutions and agentic coding workflows is preferred.
• Experience leading consultative data assessments and data modernization projects is preferred.
• Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred.
