This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and oversee secure architectures on the Google Cloud Platform for a federal health client.
• Collaborate with system administrators, application teams, and project teams to operate, modernize, and migrate applications within the cloud environment.
• Establish the technical direction for new workloads.
• Construct, maintain, and enhance batch and streaming data pipelines on Google Cloud to support analytics and machine learning initiatives.
• Ingest data from APIs, databases, SaaS platforms, streaming feeds, and files, transform it, and deliver refined datasets in BigQuery.
• Implement data quality rules, schema validation, and automated testing within pipelines.
• Monitor the health of pipelines using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
• Enforce governance and security standards, which include IAM, encryption, data masking, and auditing.
• Manage pipeline infrastructure utilizing Terraform and CI/CD practices.
• Provide technical guidance on data engineering standards, lead code reviews, and document datasets, transformations, and operational procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, data engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 3 years of practical data engineering experience, particularly in building production data pipelines on a cloud platform.
• More than 3 years of experience leading technical teams, including establishing technical standards and processes for both cloud and on-premises environments, as well as guiding technology decisions.
• Practical experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub.
• Proficient in SQL and Python, with a background in distributed data processing and data modeling.
• Experience in transforming large datasets and providing ML-ready datasets for model training purposes.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation (Public Trust).
• Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and have physically resided in the United States for at least 3 years due to background investigation requirements.
