Principal Data, AI Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver comprehensive business and technical insights in the areas of Data Analytics, Data Processing, Data Governance, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.

• Engage in discussions throughout the entire technology adoption cycle with stakeholders, from CEOs to developers, across various technical sectors.

• Act as a reliable technical advisor for designated strategic accounts.

• Contribute to both internal and external thought leadership through writing blog posts, whitepapers, and case studies.

• Represent OpsGuru at industry conferences and events as a speaker, panelist, or subject matter expert.

• Guide and challenge clients to enhance the value derived from their technology investments.

• Supervise project teams to ensure technical results meet customer business challenges, budget constraints, and timelines.

• Collaborate with Engagement Managers, project teams, and clients to oversee scope, expectations, and delivery quality.

• Discuss budget implications and ROI with stakeholders.

• Engage in sales and pre-sales activities, including scoping and drafting statements of work.

• Assist in account management efforts.

• Provide leadership to Architects and Engineers in a managerial capacity when necessary.

• Conduct individual meetings, professional development sessions, and goal-setting discussions.

• Address administrative or project issues and offer recommendations for performance reviews and promotions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience delivering Professional Services with leading cloud providers.

• Proficiency in Amazon Web Services is mandatory.

• Experience focused on at least three of the following: large-scale workload migrations; modernization of enterprise data platforms; modern large-scale lakehouse implementations; data security, governance, and compliance; machine learning and/or artificial intelligence implementations.

• Practical experience with AWS; knowledge of Azure or Google Cloud is a plus.

• Proficient in Python for Data Analytics.

• Skills in relational database design, optimization, and migration.

• Familiarity with enterprise data warehouses.

• Experience working with data lakes, data pipelines, and ETL processes.

• Knowledge of stream and batch processing using frameworks like Spark.

• Data modeling expertise for transactional and analytics applications.

• Experience creating BI dashboards and data visualizations.

• Understanding of data quality gates, data lineage, and data catalogs.

• Familiar with Machine Learning and MLOps frameworks, such as SageMaker.

• Knowledge of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and foundational models.

• More than 10 years of experience in a relevant Information Technology environment.

• Proven track record of presenting to diverse audiences, including executives at CxO, VP, and Director levels.

• Experience managing multiple complex projects with varied stakeholders concurrently.

• Background in technical pre-sales and ability to provide SME guidance during customer-facing sales and pre-sales discussions.

• Capability to model costs and clarify total cost of ownership.

• Experience managing budgets, modeling project costs, and developing resourcing plans.

• Proficiency in addressing customer requests and escalations while resolving project challenges.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Skill in adapting communication styles to suit individual team members.

• Ability to articulate the company's business value, mission, and values to clients.

• Competence in providing honest and constructive feedback.

• Commitment to team challenges until resolution.

• Capacity to build trust and professional relationships.

• Ability to conduct gap-analysis discussions and assist in defining effective goals.
